titleOfInvention HIGH-SPEED MEDIUM ACCESS CONTROL WITH INTEROPERABILITY WITH A WOUNDED SYSTEM.
abstract A method for managing interoperability by an access point (104) with legacy wireless communication systems, the procedure comprising the steps of: the detection of a shared medium (5330) operated by a neighboring access point according to a first communication protocol; the reservation of the shared medium for a duration according to the first communication protocol; characterized in that the method further comprises the steps of: providing a slotted mode with defined slot intervals (5310) in the shared medium for the duration reserved for the wireless stations (106) to communicate according to a second communication protocol, the communication being the first communication protocol a protocol inherited from the second communication protocol and each slot interval comprising a pilot interval (5315) for the pilot transmissions and a slot space (5320) for transmissions by the wireless stations (106) and the transmission of periodic mode of the pilot signal during each pilot interval (5315) to maintain the reservation of the shared medium for the wireless stations (106) to communicate according to the second communication protocol.
