abstract An organized mobile multifunctional conjugate (OMMC) comprising: (A) a laminar structure defining a gap, the laminar structure being CH3- (CH2) e-X, in which: (1) e ranges from 16 to 32; and (2) X is selected from carboxylate, sulphonate, sulfate, phosphate and phosphonate; and (B) a first binding compound and a second binding compound, each of which is anchored to the laminar structure, the first binding compound capable of binding to a first affinity site of a target, and the second being binding compound capable of binding to a second affinity site of a target, wherein the first and second binding compounds are mobile and self-adjusting with respect to each other to form an OMMC assembly in which the binding compounds are capable of cooperatively binding to the target, in which each binding compound independently comprises: (1) an anchor region incorporated in the OMMC, the anchor region of CH3 (CH2) aW, CH3 (CH2) aO- (CH2) being selected ) bW, CH3 (CH2) aS- (CH2) bW, CF3 (CH2) aW, CF3 (CF2) aW, CF3 (CF2) aCH2CH2-W, CF3 (CF2) aO (CH2) bW and CH3 (CH2) aSS- (CH2) bW, in which: (a) a and b vary from 16 to 32; (b) W is selected from -O-, -CO-, -CO2-, -OCO-, O2CO-, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -NH-, NHCO-, -NHCS, -NHSO2 -, PO2H-, -OPO2H-, -PO2-, and -OPO2-; and (2) a selected binding region of amino acids, peptides, peptidomimetics, monosaccharides, disaccharides, oligosaccharides, sialic acid, carminic acid and anionic compounds of - (CH2) d-CO2 -, - (CH2) d-SO3 -, - (CH2) d OSO3 -, - (CH2) d-PO3 =, - (CH2) d-OPO3 =, -Ar-SO3 -, DTPA, EDTA, DOTA and EGTA, where d varies from 1 to 10; and (3) a linker that connects the binding region to the anchor region, the linker being selected from polysorbates, polyglycerols, polypeptides, polynucleotides, polysaccharides, polyvinyl pyrrolidones, polyvinyl alcohols, polyethylene glycols, polyglycolate, polylactate and any copolymer derived groups previous.
