titleOfInvention | IMMUNE CONTROL based on IP-10. |
abstract | A method for the diagnosis of an infection caused by mycobacteria that comprises the steps of a) incubating a sample comprising T cells obtained from a human being with at least one mycobacterial specific peptide or protein test antigen with the condition that said test antigen other than PPD b) determine the cell-mediated immune response of the test antigen by measuring the level of IP-10 in said sample, c) compare the determined level of IP-10 with a reference level, and d) determine if it is probable that said human being is infected with at least one mycobacterium, if the level of IP-10 determined is equal to or is above the reference level and / or determine if it is probable that said mammal is not infected if said level of IP-10 determined is below the reference level. |
