titleOfInvention | APPLIANCE TO PROVIDE PAIN AND ANXIETY RELIEF ASSOCIATED WITH MEDICAL OR SURGICAL PROCEDURES. |
abstract | A system for relieving a patient's pain, anxiety and discomfort associated with medical or surgical procedures, the system comprising: one or more patient health monitoring devices (12a) coupled to a patient and generating at least a first signal that reflects at least one physiological state of the patient; a drug release controller (2a) that supplies the patient with one or more drugs based on the at least one first signal; a memory device that stores a set of safety data (14a) that reflects parameters of at least one monitored physiological state of the patient; and an electronic controller (14) interconnected between said one or more devices to monitor the health of the patient, the drug release controller and the memory device that stores the safety data set; said electronic controller accessing said set of safety data that reflects the parameters of the physiological state of the patient; said electronic controller receiving at least a first signal and controlling in response the application of the drugs by the drug release controller in accordance with the safety data set; controlling said electronic controller, in response to the at least a first signal, the generation of at least a second signal by a second patient monitoring device of the one or more patient health monitoring devices according to the safety data set , said electronic controller (14) being arranged to trigger an immediate retest of blood pressure whenever it receives blood pressure data that constitutes high or low alarm conditions. |
