abstract | A method of coloring a substrate with a reactive coloring matter in supercritical or almost supercritical carbon dioxide, said substrate being selected from the group consisting of cellulose fibers; modified cellulose fibers; protein fibers; synthetic fibers containing a plurality of reactive groups selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl, thiol, primary amine and secondary amine; and combinations of these fibers, wherein the method comprises the following steps of: - pretreatment of the substrate by humidifying the substrate with a fluid medium containing at least 10% by weight preferably at least 40% by weight of one or more acceptor compounds of Organic hydrogen bond selected from the group consisting of C1-C5 alkanols comprising a hydroxyl group, - coloration of the substrate by contact of the substrate previously treated with supercritical or almost supercritical carbon dioxide containing a reactive coloring matter. |
