abstract The present invention relates to a botanical repellent composition for combating pest insects that comprises garlic extract (Allium sativum) from 75% to 92%, humic acids and diluents from 25% to 8%. Preferably, the composition comprises 87% aqueous garlic extract, humic acids and 13% water. These percentages are those that guarantee a control of more than 70% for adults, above 60% on nymphs and greater than 60% on eggs. whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) in pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo). The aqueous extract of garlic is obtained by the maceration method to obtain a concentration level of 87% that allows to have an adequate percentage on pest insects that affect crops.
