abstract | A method of optimizing an assay to detect a concentration of an analyte in a sample liquid, said assay using a test device having a surface, the surface printed on it having a specific site immobilized calibration point that includes a predetermined amount of the analyte and a test point that includes a capture antibody to bind said analyte, said process including the following steps: modify said surface by applying an epoxysilane coating to provide hydrophobic binding sites, hydrophilic binding sites and covalent binding sites; print said test spots and said calibration points on said surface; apply the test liquid of the sample to the test device; test the sensitivity of the assay; and modulating the relationship of said hydrophobic binding sites to said hydrophilic binding sites to said covalent sites by modulating the cooking time and temperature of the epoxysilane coating in order to optimize the sensitivity of the assay. |
