titleOfInvention METAL IMPLANTS
abstract An implant suitable for use at least partially in contact with bone, the implant comprising a metal structure, wherein the surface of the metal structure has a hard anodized surface of oxide where small holes of ion-absorbing material are present, where there is a ceramic coating containing hydroxyapatite deposited on the anodized oxide in at least part of the surface of the metal structure; where silver ions that can be gradually leached into body fluids after implantation, are contained within the ceramic coating or in the anodized surface layer or in both the ceramic coating and the anodized surface layer.
