abstract | A compound of formula (I): where R 1 and R 2 are independently selected from H, halogen, cyano, C 1-4 alkyl, C 2-4 alkenyl, C 2-4 alkynyl, C 3-6 cycloalkyl ), -O-C 1-4 alkyl, -COO-C 1-4 alkyl, -CONH2, -CONH-C 1-4 alkyl and -CON (C 1-4 alkyl) 2; and said (C1-4) alkyl is optionally substituted with one, two or three halogen substituents; and said -O-C 1-4 alkyl is optionally substituted with -COO-C 1-4 alkyl or with one, two or three halogen substituents; with the proviso that if R 1 is H, R 2 cannot be H; R 3 is chosen between H and halogen; R 4 is chosen from (C1-4) alkyl, halogen and nitro; Q is chosen between N and CR 5, where R 5 is chosen between H and halogen; R 6 is chosen between H and halogen; R 7 is chosen from -C 1-6 alkyl-R 8 and a 5-membered saturated heterocycle bearing a heteroatom chosen from N, O and S; wherein said heterocycle is optionally substituted with one, two or three substituents independently selected from (C1-6) alkyl and oxo; and wherein the (C1-6) alkyl portion of said -C 1-6 alkyl-R 8 is optionally monosubstituted with -OH and optionally substituted with one to six halogen substituents; and where R 8 is chosen from: a) -OH, -COOH, -CONHSO2R 9, -C (= O) NHOH, -OC (= O) NH2 or -NH2, where R 9 is (C1-6) alkyl or cycloalkyl (C3-7); b) -O-(C2-6) alkyl -OH, -NH-(C2-6) alkyl -OH, -O- (C1-6) alkyl -R 81 or -NH-C1-6 alkyl -R 81, where R 81 is chosen from Het, -CONHSO2R 9 and -COOH; where R 9 is as defined above; c) -NHC (= O) -R 82, where R 82 is selected from (C1-6) alkyl, (C2-6) alkenyl, (C3-7) cycloalkyl, phenyl, -NH2, -NH-alkyl (C1-6), -N ((C1-6) alkyl) 2 and Het; and each of said alkyl (C1-6), alkenyl (C2-6), cycloalkyl (C3-7), phenyl and Het is optionally substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from -OH, -COOH, -CONHSO2R 9, -SO2NH2, -NH2, -NH-C1-6 alkyl, -N (C1-6 alkyl) 2, Het and -NH-Het; where R 9 is as defined above; wherein the (C1-6) alkyl portions of said -NH-(C1-6) alkyl and -N ((C1-6) alkyl) 2 are independently and optionally substituted with -O-(C1-6) alkyl, -CONHSO2R 9 or -COOH; where R 9 is as defined above; and wherein said Het and the Het fragment of said -NH-Het are optionally substituted with -COOH or -CONHSO2R 9; where R 9 is as defined above; and d) -C (= O) N (R 83) R 84, where R 83 is chosen from H and alkyl (C1-6); and R 84 is chosen from (C1-6) alkyl and Het; and each of said (C1-6) alkyl and Het is optionally substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from -OH, -COOH, -CONHSO2R 9 and -SO3H; where R 9 is as defined above; or R 83 and R 84 are connected together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, forming a single or 5-membered ring heterocycle, which can be saturated, unsaturated or aromatic and optionally contain one to three additional heteroatoms independently chosen from N, O and S; and said heterocycle is optionally substituted with -COOH or -CONHSO2R 9; where R 9 is as defined above; where Het is a 4, 5 or 6 member heterocycle or a 9 or 10 member heterocycle, each of which can be saturated, unsaturated or aromatic and contain one to four heteroatoms independently selected from N, O and S, where each of said heteroatoms N can be, independently and where possible, in an oxidation state that further allows their binding to an oxygen atom to form an N-oxide group, and where each of said heteroatoms S can be, independently and where possible, in an oxidation state that also allows their binding to one or two oxygen atoms to form the SO or SO2 groups; or a salt or ester thereof. |
