Flexible container (10) for the combined storage and administration of medications and diluents, the container comprising: a flexible backsheet (14); a flexible front sheet (12) welded to the rear sheet (14) along a common peripheral edge (16); a first removable weld (24, 80, 84, 90) that detachably joins the front and rear sheet to form and define a compartment (18) containing the diluent; a second removable weld (26, 82, 86, 92) that detachably joins the front and rear sheet to form and define a compartment (20) containing the medicament; and in which the first and second removable welds (24, 26, 80, 82 84, 86, 90, 92) have a respective different breaking characteristic, the first removable weld having a weld width that is less than that of the second removable weld and requires less activation energy than the second removable weld so that it breaks before the second removable weld in response to a hydraulic pressure developed by manipulating the vessel (10), regardless of whether the hydraulic pressure develops in the first compartment (18) or in the second compartment (20). |
