titleOfInvention | PLASTIDIAL TIORREDOXINS: OVEREXPRESSION AND BIOTECHNOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS. |
abstract | Plastidial thioredoxins: overexpression and biotechnological applications. The genetic sequence of the chloroplastic thioredoxin (Trx) m and f of the N. tabacum species, its method of cloning, expression in plastids and applications is described. Plastidial transformation vectors containing molecules of DNA encoding Trx, the hosts that incorporate them, especially E. coli and, particularly, transgenic plants obtained with such vectors, as well as their method of obtaining and their application in the overexpression of Trx in soluble and active form in said plants and in increased starch production.n n n The said plastidial vectors are applied to the increased plastidial production of recombinant heterologous proteins, fused with the sequences of Trx, specifically serum albumin (HSA) and cardiotrophin-1 (hCT1) human. Methods of obtaining heterologous proteins coexpressed with Trx, biologically active and in native conformation are also described; as well as obtaining recombinant hCT1 in soluble form and with increased bioactivity. |
