abstract Compound of formula: ** Formula ** in which: X is -S- or -NH-, R1 is selected from the group consisting of: a) hydrogen, b) lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms which may optionally be substituted with: (1) aryl which may optionally be substituted with lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, OH, lower alkoxy containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, halogen, or perfluoro-lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, (2) heteroaromatic which may optionally be substituted with lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, = O and -NH, or (3) lower heterocycloalkyl, wherein said lower heterocycloalkyl ring refers to a ring saturated monocyclic 4 to 6 elements containing 3 to 5 carbon atoms and one or two heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of oxygen, nitrogen or sulfur, c) lower cycloalkyl containing 3 to 8 carbon atoms that may optionally be substituted with ari lo, d) lower alkoxy containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms-lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, ** Formula ** R2 is selected from the group consisting of: a) cyano, b) hydrogen, c) CONR6R7, d) CO2R8, and e) lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms optionally substituted with: (1) OR9, (2) cyano, or (3) NR6R7, R3 is selected from the group consisting of : a) O-lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, b) S-lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, c) hydrogen, d) lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, e) lower cycloalkyl containing 3 to 8 carbon atoms, f) alkene, g) alkylene, h) NR6R7, i) COOR8, and j) CONR6R7, in which, in each case, lower alkyl, containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms , lower cycloalkyl containing 3 to 8 carbon atoms, lower alkene containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms, and lower alkylene containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, may substitute and optionally with: (1) OR9, (2) cyano, and (3) NR6R7, R4 is selected from the group consisting of: a) hydrogen, b) lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, c) O-lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, d) cyclo-lower alkyl containing 3 to 6 carbon atoms, and e) in which: an aryl ring is selected from (1), (2) a ring lower heterocycloalkyl, and (3) a heteroaromatic ring, wherein said lower heterocycloalkyl ring refers to a monocyclic saturated ring of 4 to 6 elements containing 3 to 5 carbon atoms and one or two heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of of oxygen, nitrogen or sulfur, R5 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R6 and R7 are each independently selected from the group consisting of: a) hydrogen, b) lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, which optionally can be replaced with. (1) OR9, (2) halogen, (3) cyano, and (4) NR12NR13, and c) lower cycloalkyl containing 3 to 8 carbon atoms, R8 is selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms that may optionally be substituted with OR9, cyano or NR6R7, R9 is selected from the group consisting of: a) hydrogen, and b) lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms that may optionally be substituted with: ( 1) OR12, (2) cyano, or (3) NR6R7, R10 and R11 are each independently selected from the group consisting of: a) hydroxy, b) hydroxy-lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 atoms of carbon, c) hydrogen, d) lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, e) halogen, f) perfluoro-lower alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and g) lower alkoxy containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms , R12 and R13 are each independently selected from the group consisting of: a) hydrogen, b) lower alkyl qu e contains 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and c) lower cycloalkyl containing 3 to 8 carbon atoms, and p is an integer between 0 and 6, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
