abstract | Method for the granulation of molten polymers containing propellant in a granulation chamber (1), through which a liquid flows from a liquid circuit whose pressure is above the ambient pressure, in which case in a first step The molten polymer is injected into the granulation chamber (1), in a second step the molten polymer is cut by means of a cutting device into individual granules and in a third step the granules generated during granulation are entrained with the liquid out of the granulation chamber (1) and then separated from the liquid, in which case the method additionally comprises at least one of the following steps: (a) Crush the agglomerates or granules generated during the granulation that exceed a predetermined maximum size in a crushing machine connected after the granulation chamber (1) or a crushing unit connected after the cutting device in the c granulating camera (1). (b) depressurize the liquid loaded with granules in a depressurization machine (14) at a lower pressure level, (c) depressurize the liquid in a throttle valve (butterfly) device (14) at the lowest pressure level, in which case before the throttle valve (butterfly) device (14) a pressure compensating container is connected which essentially keeps the pressure and the flow rate in the granulation chamber constant, (d) separating the granules from the liquid without previously depressurizing the liquid with the granules contained therein, where the throttle valve (butterfly) device (14) used in step (c) can also be the depressurization machine of step (b) or a throttle valve armature. |
