An antibody capable of binding to glypican 3, the antibody being: (a) an antibody comprising: (i) a heavy chain variable region having CDR1 comprising the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 123, CDR2 which comprises the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 124 and CDR3 comprising the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 125 and (ii) a light chain variable region having CDR1 comprising the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 142, CDR2 comprising the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 144 and CDR3 comprising the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 158; (b) an antibody that comprises (i) and that can competitively inhibit the binding of the antibody from (a) to glypican (c) an antibody that comprises (ii) and that can competitively inhibit the binding of the antibody from (a) to glypican 3; (d) an antibody having the same glypican 3 binding activity as the antibody of any of (a) to (c), in which an amino acid residue is substituted, removed or added and / or inserted from the of the amino acid sequences set forth in (a); (e) an antibody capable of binding to an epitope to which the antibody of (a) is capable of binding, compressing the antibody of (a) both the light and heavy chain variable region sequences specified in (a); or (f) an antibody capable of binding to a peptide consisting of the sequence of amino acid residues 546-551 of glypican 3. |
