abstract | A stable skin care composition comprising: a) dehydroacetic acid; b) a second active substance for skin care, the second active substance for skin care comprising salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids or mixtures thereof; c) a dermatologically acceptable vehicle that is an oil / water emulsion, water / oil emulsion, water / oil / water emulsion or a water / oil / silicone emulsion, said vehicle comprising at least one oil selected from the group consisting of PPG-15 stearyl ether, (C12-15) alkyl benzoate, butylphthalimide, isopropylphthalimide, caprylic / capric triglyceride, isopropyl N-lauroylsarcosinate, octylsalicylate, octylmethoxycinnamate or mixtures thereof; wherein said dehydroacetic acid is distributed primarily in said oil; and wherein said composition has a pH of 4.5 and lower. |
