abstract An extended release formulation comprising: a) an amount in the range of about 0.1 to maximum about 2.5 mg of 3-amino-8- (1-piperazinyl) -2H-1-benzopyran-2 °na or a salt pharmaceutically acceptable thereof or a hydrate of said pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, b1) a hydroxypropylmethylcellulose or b2) a mixture of two or more hydroxypropylmethylcellulose or b3) a starch excipient comprised between 20 and 80% by weight based on substance Dry chain of long chain amylose, with a polymerization degree of at least 100, a cold water solubility of at most 25% by weight and a specific surface area of at least 1 m2 / g. releasing said prolonged release formulation at most 40% of the active substance in 45 minutes.
