abstract |
An immunoassay for detecting doxorubicin in a sample comprising providing a mixture of a) said sample, b) an antibody that is selectively reactive with doxorubicin and has a cross-reactivity with respect to doxorubicin with doxorubicin aglycone of less than 20% and c) a conjugate of a vehicle that has a ** (See formula) ** in which Aes = NO-, or Y is an organic spacer group; X is a functional group capable of binding to said vehicle through said amino or thiol group; and p is an integer from 0 to 1; or a compound of formula: wherein X, Y and p are as defined above and B is -CH2- or a mixture thereof; ** (See formula) **** (See formula) ** causing the doxorubicin in the sample and said conjugate in said mixture to bind in said mixture with said antibody and, after that, measuring the amount of said conjugate in said mixture that binds or separates from said antibody, so that the presence of doxorubicin in the sample can be determined. |
