titleOfInvention MULTIPLE FLUORESCENCE DETECTION DEVICE THAT HAS REMOVABLE OPTICAL MODULES.
abstract A detection device comprising: a disk (13) having several processing chambers each to contain a respective sample (22) and one or more fluorescent dyes, said fluorescent dyes having different emission wavelengths; an engine to rotate said disk; several optical modules (16); a housing (46) having several positions adapted to receive the optical modules, in which each of the various optical modules can be removed from the positions in the housing; a detector (18); and a bundle of optical fibers (14) coupled with the plurality of optical modules to transmit the fluorescent light from the multiple optical modules to the detector; wherein each of the optical modules includes an optical channel, each optical module having a light source (30) chosen to excite one of the different dyes and a lens (42) to capture the fluorescent light emitted by the disk, being said optical modules configured optically to study different dyes at different wavelengths.
