titleOfInvention A NEW CAPA-2 TRANSFER MECHANISM BASED ON THE FLOW FOR MOBILE NETWORK NODE WITH MULTIPLE NETWORK INTERFACES.
abstract A method for transferring a mobile network node, MN, from a network interface to another network interface, NIC, said network interfaces being connected to the same Level 2 network, L2: - Detecting the Network Interface Cards, NICs, of the MN that are connected to the same L2 network by an external device or by the MN itself; - Make the transfer decision to transfer data flows from the mobile network node from one interface to another; - Perform the necessary operations to update the L2 information about the mobile network node in relation to the network entities connected to the same L2 network to carry out the continuous transfer, without changing the address at Level 3, L3 or higher levels ; - in which the MN generates and sends L2 signaling protocol data units, PDUs, to update the L3L2 mapping tables and to create a new L2 path for the L2 PDUs destined for the MN; characterized by: - in which the mobile network node sends an extended DHCP Request message to inform a DHCP server about the MAC address of the available NICs, the DHCP server then updates the list of L2 addresses of the MN in its database and responds with a DHCP Knowledge message to the MN as in the case of a reminder of the MN's IP address after the timeout; when another NIC of the MN connects to the same L2 network, the MN begins to establish an agreement with the DHCP server, in the DHCP Discovery message the L2 address of the NIC for which a new IP address should be configured. contained, the DHCP server searches its database for the L2 address contained in the signaling message, if the search is successful, an IP address has already been provided for this MN, the DHCP server then sends the message to the MN DHCP Response with a new indicator with which the DHCP server informs the MN that a new NIC of the MN is connected to the same L2 network to which the other MN interfaces are also connected, using this information the MN detects that it remains in the same L2 network so that the transfer between the different NICs of the MN can be made.
