Wet wipe having a wet tensile strength in use in the transverse direction of at least 100 g / inch (100 g / 2.54 cm) in which the wet wipe has a tensile strength of approximately , less than 30 g / inch (30 g / 2.54 cm) after being immersed in water with a concentration of Ca2 + and / or Mg2 + ions of approximately 50 ppm for approximately one hour and in which the wet wipe comprises a sheet of cloth saturated with a wetting composition, wherein the sheet of cloth comprises fibrous material and an ion-sensitive binder comprising a copolymer of acrylic acid modified with sulfonate anions and a coagglutinant selected from poly (ethylene-acetate) non-crosslinked vinyl), uncrosslinked poly (styrene-butadiene), and uncrosslinked poly (styrene-acrylic), and in which the wetting composition contains approximately less than 10% by weight of organic solvents. |
