A compound having the formula: ** (See formula) ** and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, wherein X is a member selected from the group consisting of -O- or -NH-; And it is a member that is selected from the group consisting of -O- and -S-; R1, R2 and R3 are each members that are independently selected from the group consisting of acyl (C9-C14), with the proviso that R1, R2 and R3 are not all tetradecanoyl groups when R4 is PO3H2, R5 and R6 are H , X and Y are O, n is 1, m is 2 and p and q are 0. R4 is a member that is selected from the group consisting of -H and -PO3R7R8, in which R7 and R8 are each independently selected members between the group consisting of -H, and aliphatic groups (C1-C4); R5 is a member that is selected from the group consisting of -H, -CH3 and -PO3R9R10, in which R9 and R10 are each members that are independently selected from the group consisting of -H and aliphatic groups (C1-C4) ; R6 is selected from H, OH, oxyaliphatic groups (C1-C4); -PO3R11R12, -OPO3R11R12, -SO3R11, -OSO3R11, -NR11R12, -SR11, -CN, -NO2, -CHO, -CO2R11, and -CONR11R12, in which R11 and R12 are each independently selected from H and aliphatic groups (C1-C4), with the proviso that one of R4 and R5 is a phosphorus-containing group and that when R4 is -PO3R7R8, R5 is different from -POsR9R1; in which "* 1", "* 2", "* 3" and "**" represent chiral centers; in which n, m, p and q are each independently an integer from 0 to 6, with the proviso that the sum of p and m is 0 to 6. |
