titleOfInvention | ENZYMATIC PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING OMEGA-3 DOCOSAHEXAENOIC ACID AND OMEGA-6 DOCOSAPENTAENOUS ACID, FROM VEGETABLE OILS, AND PRODUCTS OBTAINED. |
abstract | Enzymatic procedure for obtaining Omega-3 docosahexaenoic acid and docosapentaenoic acid Omega-6, from vegetable oils, and their products.n n n The enzymatic procedure for obtainingndocosahexaenoic acid and docosapentaenoic acid formnindependent, from the precursors of the seriesnOmega-3 and Omega-6, the acidnα-linolenic and linoleic, respectively.n The precursors come from vegetable oils, which means aneconomic advantage over the techniques currently used. Heninvention is based on the use of endogenous enzymes present innupper eukaryotes (5-desaturase,n6-desaturase and elongase), and two enzymes presentnin marine microalgae (elongasa andn4-desaturase), resulting in a new routenmetabolicn n n Enzymes are cloned into expression vectors suitable for the bacteria used ( E. Coli ), so that we obtain bacteria genetically transformed with DNAs that code for the five enzymes. After the over-expression and purification of the enzymes, they are immobilized in independent columns, which allows the execution of the metabolic pathway in a serial way. |
