abstract Sol-gel coating withntitania nanoparticles for the protection of a substrate andnprocedure to obtain it.n n n The invention defines a sol-gel coating applied to a substrate consisting of a polysiloxane network obtained from an organosilane compound comprising titania nanoparticles embedded in the network and obtained in-situ from a titanium alkoxide, in which the molar ratio titanium: silicon is in the range of 1: 3 to 1: 5. This sol-gel coating has a lower thickness, acts as an effective barrier to protect the substrate against ultraviolet light and corrosion and also has better mechanical properties. Also, the invention defines a process for the preparation of said coating.
