abstract | Process for producing a diene compound represented by the following formula (1) with a high purity, comprising the induction of a Claisen rearrangement reaction in a compound represented by the following formula (2), in a mixture comprising the diene compound represented by the formula (1) and the compound represented by the formula (2), to produce a compound represented by the following formula (3) by the Claisen rearrangement reaction; or to produce a compound represented by the following formula (3a) by a Claisen rearrangement reaction in which the compound represented by the formula (2) is a compound represented by the following formula (2a); and the diene compound represented by the formula (1), and separation of the diene compound represented by the formula (1) from the Claisen rearrangement reaction product, or the conversion of the Claisen rearrangement reaction product into a derivative thereof by means of a method of increasing the molecular weight by an addition reaction, a method of reducing a carbonyl group in a hydroxyl group or a method of washing with water in case R 7 in formula (3) is an atom of fluorine or a chlorine atom and then separation of the diene compound represented by formula (1) from the derivative of the Claisen rearrangement reaction product, characterized in that R 1 to R 9 in the following formulas, equal or different from each other, represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a monovalent hydrocarbon group, a monovalent hydrocarbon group containing an etheric oxygen atom, a halogenated monovalent hydrocarbon group or a monovalent hydrocarbon group containing a halogenated etheric oxygen atom: ** (See formula) ** |
