A reagent for increasing the sensitivity of the detection of enzymatic endotoxin, comprising: a purified C-factor factor C protein; and a surfactant, wherein the purified limulus factor C protein is enzymatically active in the presence of the surfactant and wherein the surfactant is present in an amount that increases the sensitivity of an enzymatic endotoxin detection reaction related to a reagent containing the purified C-factor factor protein that does not include the surfactant. |
