abstract |
A method for isolating an E2 polypeptide from hepatitis C virus (HCV), in which the HCV E2 polypeptide is truncated after approximately amino acid 715, numbered in reference to the E2 amino acid sequence of HCV1, in which said method comprises: (a) providing a population of host cells transformed with a polynucleotide comprising a coding sequence for said HCV E2 polypeptide, wherein said coding sequence is operably linked to control elements, so that said coding sequence can be transcribe and translate in the host cell; (b) culturing said population of cells under the conditions in which said HCV E2 polypeptide is expressed intracellularly; (c) alter said host cells; and (d) isolating said HCV E2 polypeptide from said fragmented cells. |
