abstract |
The invention consists in fermenting selected strains of Blakeslea trispora under conditions such that BETA-carotene is produced in the form of stabilized preparations with residual contents of other carotenoids (-carotene and BETA-zeacarotene). Among the fermentation conditions chosen are the programmed addition of oxygen and / or BETA-ionone, throughout the fermentation and the age control of the vegetative growth phases of the strains used. The BETA-carotene obtained is applicable in the pharmaceutical and food sectors. |
