titleOfInvention | AROMATIC RENTAL PROCEDURE. |
abstract | A process for selectively producing monoalkylated aromatic compounds and a reduced amount of polyalkylated compounds, said method comprising contacting an aromatic feed with an alkylating agent in the presence of a catalyst comprising a molecular sieve and at least one metal cation present in a amount of at least 0.5% by weight of the catalyst; said molecular sieve is selected from the group consisting of MCM-22, PSH-3, SSZ-25, ERB-1, ITQ-1, ITQ-2, MCM-36, MCM-49 and MCM-56, to produce a reduced quantity of polyalkylates when compared with the same catalyst but without the presence of the metal cation, said metal cation being selected from Groups 1-4 and 7-16 of the Periodic Table of Elements and V, Mo and W; and in which the metal cation is selected from K, Mg, Ca, Ba, B, Al, Ga, Sn, Zn, Ce, Ti, Zr, V, Mo, W, Mn, Re, Fe, Ru, Co, Pd, Pt, Cu and Ag. |
