A polypeptide comprising between about 1% and about 75% of monomer units having one or more of the following formulas (I), (II) or (III): ** see formula ** in which: - n can be 1 or 2; - R 1 can be H or a thiol protecting group; - R 2 can be a hydroxyl group (OH), a carboxylic acid protecting group, or a -NR 5 R 6 group in which R 5 and R 6 can be selected from the group consisting of H or a C1-C7 alkyl group , linear or branched; - R 3 and R 4 may be selected from the group consisting of H, a linear or branched C 1 -C 7 alkyl group, or an amine protecting group; where chiral centers marked with an asterisk can have an R, S or RS configuration. |
