titleOfInvention A METHOD TO PREACH THE STATE OF THE GASTRIC MUCOSA.
abstract A method for assessing or predicting the state of gastric mucosa in a subject by determining, in said subject, the probability that the gastric mucosa belongs to at least one class of gastric mucosa, the method of which comprises: - measuring, from a sample of said subject, the concentrations of the pepsinogen I (PGI) and gastrin-17 (G-17) analytes, as well as determining the presence or concentration of a marker for Helicobacter pylori, - entering the data thus obtained in a computer system that it comprises an operating system, a database and means for transmitting and processing the data, said computer system being adapted to determine the probability that the gastric mucosa belongs to at least one class of gastric mucosa, the class of gastric mucosa consisting of selected between the class group, in normal (N), antral atrophy (A), antral atrophy and corpus (AC), corpus atrophy (C) and superficial or non-atrophic gastritis (S) according to dat as well as the predefined clinical data in the database, the predefined clinical data in the database comprising the data obtained from a reference population group by gastroscopic studies and the determination of the PGI and G-17 analytes and the Helicobacter pylori marker in said reference population group, the information thus generated by the computer system of the state of the gastric mucosa in said subject being indicative.
