titleOfInvention MRI / NMR COMPATIBLE HYPERPOLARIZED GAS SUPPLY VALVES FOR FANS AND ASSOCIATED GAS SUPPLY PROCEDURES.
abstract A gas supply valve (10) for a fan configured to deliver hyperpolarized gas to a subject, the gas supply valve (10) comprising: a valve body (10b) having at least one flow path (10f) of gas extending between at least one gas inlet port (31, 33) and at least one gas outlet port (35) and at least one reel receptacle (10r), one of the at least one port being (31, 33) in fluid communication with a hyperpolarized gas source; at least one spool member (20) being disposed (20) in a respective receptacle of the at least one spool receptacle (10r) of said valve body (10b), said spool member (20) being configured and sized for cooperating with said valve body (10b) to selectively open and close the at least one gas flow path (10f); and at least one pilot fluid port in fluid communication with said reel receptacle (10r), in which, during operation, a command impulse signal having an associated pressure and duration is transmitted to said port of pilot fluid to thereby force said reel (20) to move an actuation distance in a predetermined direction in said receptacle (10r) of the valve body to open / close the at least one path (10f) of gas flow
