The method comprises transforming plant material with a gene construct comprising a cytotoxic gene under the control of the anther-specific pea PsEND1 gene promoter, regenerating the plants, and selecting transgenic plants that exhibit modified inflorescence architecture compared to the that presents the corresponding wild plant. The resulting transgenic plant presents a more complex branching pattern, with a greater number of branches and higher-order branches, all of which produce flowers. Of application in Agriculture, in particular, in the production of ornamental plants. |
