abstract | A method for estimating the concentration of a reduced (or oxidized) form of a redox species in a liquid, comprising the steps of: contacting an area (4; 8) of a first electrode (1) with a sample (5 ) of predetermined volume (V) of the liquid in which the first electrode is provided with an enzyme and a redox mediator, contacting the sample (5) with an area of a second electrode (11) separated from the first, applying a potential between the electrodes (1, 11) while the electrodes (1, 11) are separated closely enough so that the reaction products formed on each electrode (1 or 11) diffuse towards the other electrode (11 or 1) While the potential is applied, measure or estimate an indicative value of the change in current as a function of time (pending) and an indicative value of current (iss) in steady state, and determine from said volume (V), said current as a function of time (pending e) and said steady state current (i ss), the concentration of the reduced (or oxidized) form of the species in the liquid sample (5). |
