A method of controlling gene expression in a biological sample, comprising: (a) providing a complementary polynucleotide to an intronic RNA sequence within a target gene, where the expression of said intronic RNA sequence correlates with the expression of a exonic mRNA sequence within said gene; (b) hybridizing said polynucleotide with said intronic RNA sequence to form an intronic polynucleotide-RNA complex; and (c) detect the intrinic polynucleotide-RNA complex. |
