A process for producing a salicylic ester, comprising: subjecting a solution of a transesterification reaction obtained by transesterifying a C1-4 alkyl salicylic ester with alcohols or phenols in the presence of at least one catalyst selected from the group consisting of titanium based catalysts , tin-based catalysts, and aluminum-based catalysts, for distillation treatment in the presence of an epoxy compound having a boiling point greater than that of the salicylic ester produced. |
