abstract Use of a compound of the formula (I) (See formula) in which R1 and R2 represent alkyl radicals the same or different from each other or one is alkyl and the other is H, or R1 and R2 form, together with their binding sites, a 5, 6, 7 or 8-membered cyclic ring system, which is saturated or containing one or more double bonds between the ring atoms, said ring optionally containing up to two heteroatoms in addition to the nitrogen atom to which R1 is attached, 0-2 being the number of N atoms and 0-1 being the number of O or S atoms each, and wherein said ring is optionally substituted with up to three substituents independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl or arylalkyl, in which the aryl group is optionally substituted, alkoxy, aryloxy, acyloxy, arylthio, alkylthio, arylsulfonyl, alkylsulfonyl, hydroxy, oxo, halogen, amino, oxime, acyl, carboxyl, thiocarboxyl, and amido; R3 and R4 form, together with their binding sites, a hydrocarbon cyclic ring system of 5, 6, 7 or 8 members, which is saturated or containing one more double bonds between carbon atoms and where said ring is optionally substituted with up to three substituents independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, or arylalkyl, the aryl group being optionally substituted, alkoxy, aryloxy, acyloxy, arylthio, alkylthio, arylsulfonyl, alkylsulfonyl, hydroxy, oxo, halogen, amino , oxime, acyl, carboxyl, thiocarboxyl, and amido; provided that said compound is not 1,2,7,8,9,10,11,13-octahydro-13-oxo-4- (phenylthio) - [1] -benzothiene [2 '', 3 '' : 4,5] pyrimido [1,2, -a] azepin-3-carboxyaldehyde; for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment and / or prevention of a disease or condition dependent on steroid hormones, wherein the disease or condition dependent on steroid hormones is selected from the group consisting of breast cancer, prostate carcinoma, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, endometrial cancer and endometrial hyperplasia, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, uterine leiomyomas, adenomyosis, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, metrorrhagia, prostadinia, benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostatitis, acne, seborrhea, hirsutism, androgenic alopecia, precocious puberty syndrome, hyperplasia, premature syndrome polycystic, urinary dysfunction, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, colon cancer, tissue lesions, dermal wrinkles and cataracts, or for the manufacture of a medication to block spermatogenesis and as a male antifertility agent.
