titleOfInvention A METHOD AND A DEVICE FOR FLAT MADE RADIOGRAPHY AND A RADIATION DETECTOR.
abstract A method for obtaining images in flat beam radiography, in which: - X-rays (9) are emitted from an X-ray source (60), - X-rays are shaped in the form of a flat beam and transmitted through of an object (62) from which an image is to be obtained, - X-rays transmitted through said object are detected in a gas avalanche detector that includes electrodes (4, 5) between which a voltage is applied to create an electric field, such that - X-rays are detected in an avalanche chamber (64) of parallel plates comprising a gas and which is oriented so that the radiation to be detected enters laterally between first and second parallel plates, such that the first parallel plate (1, 2) includes a first electrode and the second parallel plate (2, 1) includes a second electrode, - the voltage is applied between the first and second electrodes to create a electric field that causes avalanches (12) of electron ions of the primary and secondary ionization electrons released by the incident X-ray photons while ionizing said gas, - electrical signals are detected in at least one detector electrode arrangement, said electrical signals being induced by said electron avalanches- ions, in at least one of a plurality of detector electrode elements disposed adjacent to each other, each along a direction that is essentially parallel to the incident radiation.
