abstract | Method for the production of a copolymer having a high water reduction performance for a cement mixture, comprising a polymerization step of monomer components comprising at least one monomer (A) based on represented unsaturated polyalkylene glycol ether by the following formula (1) (See formula) in which R 1, R 2 and R 3 independently represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R 4 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group with 1 to 20 carbon atoms; R a represents an alkylene group with 2 to 18 carbon atoms, with the proviso that if m is 2 or higher, each of the oxyalkylene groups represented by R to O may be the same or different from each other; m represents an average number of moles of addition of oxyalkylene groups represented by R to O and is in the range of 1 to 300; and X represents a bivalent alkylene group with 1 to 5 carbon atoms, or when a group represented by R 1 R 3 C = CR 2 - is a vinyl group, X represents a bond; and at least one monomer (B) based on unsaturated organic acid represented by the following formula (2): (See formula) in which R 7, R 8 and R 9 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or - (CH2) zCOOM 2, in which - (CH2) zCOOM 2 can form an anhydride together with -COOM 1 or another - (CH2) zCOOM 2, in which case M 1 or M 2 are not present, and Z is in the range from 0 to 2; and M 1 and M 2 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a metal atom, an ammonium group or an organic amine group; and wherein the monomer (A) based on unsaturated polyalkylene glycol ether is first added to the reactor and the monomer (B) based on unsaturated organic acid is added thereto continuously or gradually with a decreasing rate of addition being the ratio (VMAX / VMIN) of the maximum addition rate (VMAX) and the minimum addition rate (VMIN) of at least 1.2 in the case where the monomer addition rate (B) changes so the proportion (VB1 / VB2) of the rate of addition before the change in the amount of addition of the monomer (B) (VB1) and the rate of addition after the change in the amount of addition of the monomer (B) remains ( VB2), at a minimum, of 1.2 in the case where the rate of addition of the monomer (B) changes gradually. |
