| abstract | Mixing apparatus for use with a container having a contiguous side wall centered around a longitudinal axis and defining the same, the mixing apparatus comprising: in which a mixing head having a tubular vane part centered around a axis of the head and defining it and having a first tube end and a second tube end separated from each other along them, gradually narrowing the vane part from the first tube end to the second tube end, defining the inner surface of the vane part and the second end an internal diameter of vane "DI" and defining the outer surface of the vane part and the first end an external diameter of vane "DE"; mounting means for mounting the mixing head substantially coaxially to the container and within it for longitudinal movement with respect thereto; and oscillation means for effecting said longitudinal relative movement of the mixing head in an oscillating manner through a stroke length "S", with a duration "T" for each cycle, 175 <_ 0.36 x DE 2 / DI 2 x S / T <_ 250 when DE, DI and S are each expressed in inches and T is expressed in minutes. |
