abstract | Procedure for the preparation of a LMW-epiK5-N, depolymerized O-sulfate containing 40% -60% of iduronic units and having a degree of sulfation from 2.3 to 2.9 and characterized by the structure (a '') in which R represents hydrogen or SO3-, at the reducing end of most of its chains, comprising (a) treating a tertiary or quaternary organic base salt of the depolymerized LMW-epiK5-N-sulfate containing the 40% -60% of iduronic units, obtained by subjecting an epiK5-N-sulfate to nitrous depolymerization followed by reduction, with a sulphating agent under O-oversulphation conditions to obtain a depolymerized LMW-epiK5-amino-O-oversulfate; (b) subjecting the depolymerized LMW-epiK5-amino-O-oversulfate thus obtained to a selective O-desulphation to obtain a depolymerized LMW-epiK5-amino-O-sulfate; (c) treating a tertiary or quaternary organic base salt of the depolymerized LMW-epiK5-amino-O-sulfate thus obtained with an O-sulphation agent to obtain a depolymerized LMW-epiK5-amino-O-sulfate containing at least the 80% 6-O-sulfate; (d) subject the depolymerized LMW-epiK5-amino-O-sulfate containing at least 80% of 6-O-sulfate thus obtained to an N-sulphation reaction and isolate the LMW-epiK5-N, depolymerized O-sulfate so obtained. |
