abstract Chemo-enzymatic procedurenfor the synthesis of iminocyclitols and iminocyclics as wellnobtained.n n n The present invention describes a chemo-enzymatic process useful for the synthesis of iminocyclitols based on the use of the enzyme D- fructose-6-phosphate aldolase (FSA), such as: D -fagomine, 1-deoxinojirimycin and N- substituted derivatives . These iminocyclitols, thus obtained, can be inhibitors of glycosyltransferases and glycosidases and can therefore be useful for the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of human diseases.
