titleOfInvention | IMPLANTABLE PROTESIS. |
abstract | An implantable prosthesis (20) for repairing a defect in the tissue or muscular wall, the implantable prosthesis comprising a layer of a repair tissue (22) that is susceptible to the formation of adhesions with the tissue and organs, including the layer of the repair fabric an internal structure with a first surface and an external margin extending from the internal structure, the external margin including an outer peripheral end, each of the internal structure and the outer peripheral end having a thickness, the thickness of the outer peripheral end less than the thickness of the internal structure, and a barrier layer that inhibits the formation of adhesions with the tissue and organs, the barrier layer being configured to inhibit the formation of adhesions between at least a portion of the first surface and the tissue and adjacent organs. |
