A process for producing a dyed and finished lyocell fabric that has a clean, soft-touch finish, by dyeing a lyocell fabric using a vigorous action on the fabric in order to produce fibrillation on the tissue surface, and then washing and drying the dyed tissue, characterized in that, prior to the dyeing stage being carried out, the fabric is uniformly impregnated with an aqueous solution of an acid or an acid donor, and then heat treated in an atmosphere soda to activate the action of the acid or the acid donor, and because at least one of the subsequent stages of washing and drying is carried out in a rotating turning machine, which gives the dyed and finished fabric a finish clean, soft touch, substantially free of visible wrinkle marks that normally occur on lyocell tissues that have undergone vigorous action during dyeing gone. |
