abstract An indolyl derivative substituted with methylene at positions 4, 5, 6 or 7 of formula I wherein R is aryl or heteroaryl, wherein said aryl or heteroaryl group may be substituted one or more times with a substituent selected from halogen, cyano , nitro, C 1-6 alkyl, C 2-6 alkenyl, C 2-6 alkynyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl-C 1-6 alkyl, C 1-6 alkoxy, C 1-6 alkyl thio, hydroxy, C1-6 hydroxyalkyl, trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethylsulfonyl, C1-6-sulfonyl alkyl, amino, C1-6-amino alkyl, di (C1-6 alkyl) -amino, acyl, aminocarbonyl and a methylenedioxy group ; X is N, C or CH; provided that the dotted line indicates a link when X is C and not a link when X is N or CH; R 1 is hydrogen, C 1-6 alkyl, C 2-6 alkenyl, C 2-6 alkynyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl, C 3-8 cycloalkyl-C 1-6 alkyl, aryl, C 1-6 arylalkyl, acyl, thioacyl, C1-6-sulfonyl, trifluoromethylsulfonyl or arylsulfonyl alkyl; and R2 and R3 are independently selected from hydrogen, halogen, cyano, nitro, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C2-6 alkynyl, C3-8 cycloalkyl, C3-8 cycloalkyl-C1- alkyl 6, C1-6 alkoxy, C1-6-thio alkyl, hydroxy, C1-6 hydroxyalkyl, trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethylsulfonyl, C1-6-sulfonyl alkyl, amino, C1-6-amino alkyl, di (alkyl of C1-6) amino, acyl and aminocarbonyl; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
