abstract | Procedure for obtaining cyclic lactams of the formula (II) in which n and m can have respectively the values 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 and the sum formed by n + m assumes at least 3, preferably at least 4, R1 and R2 mean alkyl groups with 1 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl groups with 5 to 7 carbon atoms or aryl groups with 6 to 12 carbon atoms, by reaction of a compound (I ) of the formula in which R1, R2, myn have the meaning indicated above and R means nitrile groups, carboxylic acid amide groups and carboxylic acid groups, with water in the presence of an organic liquid diluent in liquid phase, characterized in that a) the compound (I) is reacted with water in the liquid phase in the presence of an organic liquid diluent (III) to give a mixture (IV) containing a lactam (II), the diluent (III) presenting with water a absence of miscibility under certain quantum conditions Itative, of pressure and of temperature, b) the mixture of (IV) is transformed before or after the separation of ammonia under quantitative, pressure and temperature conditions, under which the diluent (III) and water are presented in a liquid state and present a lack of miscibility, maintaining a system with two phases formed by a phase (V), which has a greater proportion in diluent (III) than in water, and a phase (VI), which presents a greater proportion in water than in diluent (III), c) phase (V) is separated from phase (VI) and d) the diluent (III) is separated from phase (V) and, if appropriate, by-products chosen from the group formed by low boiling products, high boiling products and by unconverted compound (I), obtaining a lactam (II). |
