abstract |
A method for providing double control of particle size distribution and convertible amorphous content when preparing a particulate material for agglomeration, in which the particulate material is prepared by a method comprising the steps of: a) micronizing a particulate material having a first particle size distribution to form intermediate particles having a second particle size distribution, said intermediate particles having an average particle size smaller than that of said first particle size distribution, of such such that it is obtained as a result that said intermediate particles have an increased amorphous content; b) curing said intermediate particles to reduce their amorphous content, and c) micronizing said cured intermediate particles to form micronized particles having a third particle size distribution, said micronized particles having a smaller average particle size and an amorphous content greater than that of said cured intermediate particles, the particulate material being a pharmaceutically active material, a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or a combination of a pharmaceutically active material and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, suitable for producing agglomerates. |
