titleOfInvention SULFATATION PROCEDURE FOR THE EXTRACTION OF METALS FROM SULFIDE LESSONS.
abstract Hydrometallurgical process for treating sulfide ores and concentrates containing metals, in which said metal is selected from the group consisting of iron, copper, zinc, nickel, cobalt and manganese, which comprises in a first stage the reaction of said sulfide containing metals with concentrated sulfuric acid at a temperature between 300 ° C and 400 ° C, in the presence of oxygen, to produce a solid metal sulfate product and a gaseous product that is primarily SO3, and a second stage, in which said metal sulfate product is leach then with a dilute solution of sulfuric acid, which has a concentration of between 5% and 35% to extract iron minerals (before concentration) from it and to form a solution containing metals, in which the said SO3 gaseous product formed from said reaction is subsequently combined with said metal-containing solution to increase the concentration of sulfuric acid in said solution up to 35% to 50% and to produce the stepped precipitation of the metal sulfates of said solution.
