titleOfInvention | ISOENZYME-SPECIFIC ANTIBODIES AGAINST HUMAN GLUTAMINASE TYPES K AND L. |
abstract | Isoenzyme-specific antibodies against human glutaminase types K and L, useful to discover which type of glutaminase isoenzyme (K-PAG or L-PAG) is expressed in a tissue or cell type by contacting a tissue sample or cells with a series of polyclonal antibodies (eg anti K-PAG, anti L-PAG and anti-L-PAG synthetic peptides), which recognize specific epitopes of each PAG isoenzyme. They are also useful for determining the regional, cellular, and subcellular localization of both isoforms in mammalian tissue and cell samples, which would allow their use as marker reagents for specific cell populations, with great interest, for example, in the mammalian brain. Likewise, they are useful to compare the isoenzymatic pattern in cancer patients with reference patterns and to determine qualitative or quantitative changes in the expression of glutaminase, with potential incidence in the prognosis and clinical evolution of the patient. |
