A detergent composition for use with a cleaning cloth pad comprising an effective amount of a superabsorbent material, said pad being preferably part of a cleaning tool comprising a handle, and said cleaning pad being preferably removable. The detergent composition contains a limited amount of a detergent surfactant, preferably of linear and relatively hydrophilic structure, the level of the hydrophobic materials being maintained below about 0.5%, and the pH being maintained above about 9, to allow fluids that are easily absorbed by the superabsorbent material. The method of using the detergent composition with said cleaning pad, and the provision of a case containing both the detergent composition and the cleaning pad are described. |
