A dentifrice composition comprising an orally acceptable carrier containing 5 to 30% by weight of silica hydrogel particles, the particles containing 10 to 35% by weight of water and having: (i) an average particle size of 5 to 12 micrometers; (ii) an Einlehner hardness of 1 to 20; (iii) an oil absorption value of 40 to less than 100 cc / 100 g; and (iv) a specific BET surface area of 100 to 700 m2 / g of silica, the morphology of the particles being characterized by vitreous concoid fracture surfaces, where the dentifrice composition has an RDA value of 110 to 200 and a PCR of 150 to 300 |
